Write for us
Grand Tennis Journal welcomes pitches that make a specific part of tennis easier to see. We are interested in useful explanations for players and watchers, not match reports, generic opinion or claims of guaranteed improvement.
What makes a good pitch
Send a concise proposal with a working title, the central question, the intended reader and the main point the piece will leave them with. Tell us what makes the subject distinct from a broad introduction to tennis. A strong pitch has a clear boundary, uses terms carefully and can be useful without requiring statistics, exclusive access or first-hand testing.
Subjects and approach
Possible subjects include court positioning, a comparison of playing formats, equipment choices explained by purpose, the background to a tennis custom or a guide to following a particular kind of match. We value fresh angles, plain language and practical detail. Avoid professional advice, unsupported claims and pitches built around access or credentials we cannot verify.
Send a proposal
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include your pitch in the message field; unsolicited full drafts are not needed. A proposal is not a promise of publication, and we may ask for clarification or a revision before making a decision.
Tennis makes sense one decision at a time.
We look at the details behind the game: what a choice changes, what it does not, and how to notice the difference.
